The DYN-K-P48 is the latest evolution in Schertler’s acclaimed DYN P48 Series, created specifically for the Koto in all its versions. Developed in close attention to the instrument’s unique tonal richness, it offers a natural, dynamic and detailed sound both in live performance and in the recording studio.

Its lightweight design and the use of special adhesive putty allow the microphone to be applied safely to the instrument, without any risk of damage, while remaining discreet and unobtrusive for the performer. The built-in Class-A preamp, advanced filtering technology and Kevlar-reinforced cable ensure outstanding sonic results with maximum reliability, even under demanding professional conditions. Direct connection to mixing consoles or full-range amplification systems is made simple thanks to the balanced XLR output, with operation requiring 22–48 VDC phantom power.

With the DYN-K-P48, Schertler delivers a dedicated professional solution that captures the authentic voice of the Koto, whether in its traditional 13-string form or in modern extended versions with 17-21 or 25 strings. For larger instruments we recommend using two microphones for a perfectly balanced reproduction, while a single unit already provides excellent clarity and definition across the instrument’s range.
